The City of Henderson, in association with KCEP-FM 88.1, will bring the Power 88 Super Soul Gospel Fest 2009 to the Henderson Pavilion, 200 S. Green Valley Parkway, on September 5, featuring two of the biggest names in gospel music today. Gates open at 2 p.m. with entertainment and activities until 9 p.m. Tickets start at $25.
Currently topping the Gospel charts, Grammy and Stellar Award-winner Dr. Marvin Sapp and Pastor Hezekiah Walker & The Love Fellowship Crusade Choir will perform all their hits live as part of an afternoon and evening of family fun, fellowship and down home gospel entertainment and praise.
In addition to the top-notch national recording artists, performances by local church choirs, praise teams and dancers will take the stage throughout the day. A wide variety of local food, craft and apparel vendors will provide festival-goers the best in local culture, taste experiences and gifts. Children will enjoy plenty of activities and entertainment including jumpers, face painting and balloon magic.
“Power 88 is very proud to be able to bring a quality event like this to the Las Vegas Valley,” said KCEP-FM General Manager Craig Knight. “We thank the City of Henderson for their participation and applaud their commitment to finding ways to offer residents a wide variety of cultural events. We welcome the entire Las Vegas community out to enjoy this wonderful festival Labor Day weekend.”
