Blast to the past with monster hits from the 80s and 90s
Squier enjoyed a virtual lock on the rock and pop charts throughout the 1980s and early 1990s, releasing eight top-selling albums and landing 12 songs on the Billboard Hot 100. Finding inspiration from the early workings of classic rock icons Led Zeppelin, his monster hit, “The Stroke,” from his sophomore album release, Don’t Say No, catapulted him into rock and roll stardom. The song was a national hit, not only appearing on the Top 20 list in the United States, but ranking number one in Australia. “The Stroke” has been featured in movies, Blades of Glory and Billy Madison. Today, you can hear a rendition of the song’s background beat in a number of hip hop compilations by artists such as Jay Z and Kanye West.
In the past decade, Squier has worked with music artists Richard Marx, Edgar Winter, Rod Argent, Sheila E and many others, touring with Ringo Starr & His All Starr Band. Most recently, Billy launched a nationwide summer tour with a band that includes drummer Nir Z, guitarist Marc Copely, long-time bassist Mark Clarke and keyboard player Alan St. Jon.
